Transfer in Budapest: Keleti to Nyugati station

Hi folks,

I will travel through Hungary to Ukraine and have to change in Budapest from Keleti to Zuglo in 20 mins and I have to buy a reservation in this time for the IC 1652. arrive 0949, departure 1009.

Actually in Chop I need a reservation too, I guess I write a second topic.

I already wrote to MAV, but it seems it takes time for an answer. The info hotline is not woring in nighttime and during daytime very busy. Would be very pleased to get a answer. Looks like they like it complicated. The ÖBB sold me a ticket, so it seems to be a viable connection, but they cannot give detailed information.

Hej Hans-Peter,

what kind of ticket(s) do you have? Where do you want to go in the end - I assume to somewhere in the Ukraine?

20min transfer between Keleti and Nyugati (I dont know why it says Zuglo in the schedule planner) is a bit short...the schedule planner of BKV, the local transport company, shows an overall travel time of 27 minutes...

I want to go to Odessa, and to avoid late arrival I chose this early train.
RJ 41 to Budapest Keleti pu, arriving 09.48
change to IC 1652 from Budapest-Zuglo at 10.09

There seems to be a transport, probably I have to choose a taxi, and pay a bit more....

Concerning the reservation I was successful, after many tries. I got a lady on the phone and she accepted a reservation and I can fetch it at the railway station.
