We are going on our first Interrail this summer, we already got the ticket and the ticket from Ljubljana to the boarder... I am now confused with the reservation, is it only one reservation from villach to Barcelona, or do I need to pay more... like for every train that I enter in...

Hi.
A reservation is usually per train.
Slovenia - Italy (Venice) border crossing: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
Venice - Milan: possible by free train - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/venice-to-milan
Milan - Barcelona: possible by direct and expensive night train - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/milan-barcelona-en-11274/166
Or for example from Roma to Barcelona by ferry: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/italy/it
Or from Milan via Ventigmilia to Nice, then in a next step to Barcelona.
Schedules see here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Also interesting is to use the Little Yellow Train to cross the Pyrenees from France to Barcelona: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
And if you bought your Interrail Pass here on railcc, you directly support this information, the whole forum and the railcc project. Thank you! :)

It is easy ... :)
From Ljubljana trains to Munich are free for Interrailers.
Then if you want to make big jumps, go by night train to Paris ( https://rail.cc/en/interrail/munich-to-paris ) and from Paris to Barcelona... by night train and Little Yellow train.
More information and photos for Paris to Barcelona: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/

Only if you go by night train to Munich, you need a reservation. :)
