Hi,

I am going interailling for about 30 days and have a prospective route planned from Stockholm to Paris and want to use the 10 in 22 days ticket for my travelling. I think I have worked out a route that complies including a few night trains where i can use the 7pm rule. Can anybody check the route a) sounds reasonable and b) i am only using 10 travel days
Here's the route

Stockholm (4nights)
Copenhagen (2 Nights)(5 Hour X2000 service)(1 travel day)
Copenhagen -> Prague (18:10 -> 09:15am overnight train)(1 night)(2 travel days)
Prague (2 nights)
Prague -> Krakow (21:17 -> 06:56 overnight train)(1 night)(1 travel day)
Krakow (2 nights)
Krakow -> Vienna (21:57 -> 06:22 overnight train)(1 night)(1 travel day)
Vienna (3 nights)
Salzburg (3 hour regular train)(2 night)(1 travel day)
Venice (6 hour day train)(2 night)(1 travel day)
Milan (3 hours day train) (2 nights)(1 travel day)
Nice (5 hours day train) (2 nights)(1 travel day)
Nice -> Paris (20:00 -> 07:37 overnight train)(1 travel day)
Arriving on paris on the 22nd day of travel allowance and staying a few nights

I think i might like to skip milan and go straight from Venice to Nice but coudln't train. What would be the best way to do this in one travel day? Should i just go venice -> milan -> Nice in one day?

Kind regards,
David

Hi.
Just some thoughts before compleating your route.
What about cities like Berlin and Budapest? And skipping Venice and Nice?

Only as an idea:

Stockholm - Copenhagen - inexpensive night train Malmö to Berlin - Berlin - Prague - Krakow - Budapest - Vienna - Lake Bled (Slovenia) - Salzburg - Munich - night train to Paris.

This route should easily be possible with the 10 in 22 Interrail Global Pass.

About the days you want to stay in the cities...
Salzburg: don't stay overnight
Venice: if you want to stay in Venice, it is expensive and full of tourists. I personally don't like it and prefer to rush tough.

And just one hint (but will cost you travel days) ... as you are in Stockholm, there is the Inlandsbanan not fare away! :)

And finally: if you like railcc, support it and buy your official rail pass here: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] :)

Hey Peter,

Thanks for your advice. I think I am going to drop Venice, Nice and therefore Milan and going to head to Lake Bled it looks pretty amazing. I am going to Berlin/ Munich and possibly Budapest around Oktoberfest time on another trip so trying hard not to overlap. You suggested Vienna to Bled which sounds good to me but is there any better, possibly direct trains, than these two

Both go via Vilach with a reasonably short turn around time and i'm not sure how reliable the trains will be. My new route would be

Stockholm > Copenhagen > Prague > Krakow > Vienna > Bled > Salzburg > Innsbruck > Zurich > Paris

This gives me about week which is a little more relaxed in the middle of the trip. I read there was a scenic train from Innsbruck to Zurich with great views but couldn't find it? Any more recommendations like Lake Bled? The Salzburg > Zurich leg is still changeable.

I'll definitely buy my ticket though railcc it has been such a helpful resource

Hi,

most relaxed Wien - Bled connection would be:

Wien Meidling 1029 - 1446 Villach Hbf
Villach Hbf 1512 - 1621 Lesce Bled

From Innsbruck to Zürich you pass Arlberg railway, a scenic line across the Alps between Innsbruck and Feldkirch; also the remainder to Zürich along Walensee and Zürichsee is quite nice (sit on the right).
However, even more spectacular would be going to Graubünden for a trip with Rhätische Bahn :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/chur-to-st-moritz :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/st-moritz-to-tirano

If you leave early, you could make a trip Innsbruck - Chur - Bernina railway - Zürich...just tell me if you need more info. ;)
