Hello, I'm planning an interrail trip to Eastern Europe in November. My Route would be Wien, Budapest, Belgrade, Sofia, Bucarest, Bratislava, Krakow and Varszawa.
1) What kind of an budget should I consider? I try to spend as many nights as possible in trains.
2) Any tips for routes and time I should spend in each town? Are there any other places I should consider visiting in these countries?
3) How safe is it to travel in these countries by train in couchettes? Any tips for safety. And should I make seat/bed reservations in advance even though it's not high season?
4) As my travelling happens to be in the end of fall what should I take in to consideration according to weather in these countries?
Thank You :)

Hi TEP80_0002.
Sorry for the late reply ... but now an answer. :)
1) The budget always depends on your personal way of life. Calculate here: https://rail.cc/en/overall-costs
Night train information here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
2) Bratislava only as day trip. Close to Krakow is Auschwitz ( https://rail.cc/en/oswiecim/museum-auschwitz-birkenau/l968 ) if you are interested in it.
3) I wouldn't book too much connections in advance, especially traveling outside high season. Use sleeper cars. Never had problems in Eastern Europe, but usually use the sleepers if traveling overnight, where you can lock the doors - and have a talk to the train staff, buy a beer from them and everything is more than fine! :)
4) Difficult question... it won't be colder than in Finland... ;)
Have fun planing your trip - and if you like railcc, support us and buy your official Interrail pass in our partner. Thank you! :)
Peter :)
