Hi,

This summer I\'m travelling from Budapest, Hungary to Italy. I was hoping to go by night train, but when I checked the connections (https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-venice) on this website I saw that the connection was suspended. I\'ve looked on the forum but couldn\'t find any information about this. Will the connection be available again in the nearby future (preferably before August 1st)? Do you have any alternatives for train connections from Budapest to Venice? If not, do you know of any city near Venice that we could visit?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Mark,

no there arent any news on this night train - not running this year and no information whether if or when it will resume. Alternative connection available via Vienna :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-venice

Or, if you want to travel during the day :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-venice
Alternatively you can also go to Ljubljana (or nearby Lake Bled) :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-ljubljana stay overnight and then continue to Italy as described here :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
