Hi guys,

I wanted to be spontaneous and didn't foresee that one must reserve in advance... So now I have no train to go to Madrid from Lyon on July 2nd (at least there was no possibility of reserving from my ticket office in Germany). Could you guys please help me out set up an alternative route to get there? Maybe there's a way I can reserve online? Or should I just wait until I get to Lyon and try to reserve at the station?

I bought the interrail global pass for 5 days, so far I reserved the trip from Frankfurt to Lyon and Barcelona back to Frankfurt.

Thanks!

Mel

Hi Mel.
Reservations for Interrail travellers in TGV trains are very limited. A non-official solution is described here in case you need a reservation but can't get it anymore (sold out): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/tgv-sncf/42
Lyon to Madrid is still a long trip. You should ad a stop in between, for example at the French coast or include the Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
And you can also buy your Interrail pass online here on railcc to support the forum and all the information we offer. Thank you.
Peter :)

Hi Mel,

when do you arrive in Lyon? As Peter said it is a long trip so if you have to go the same day your only possibility might actually be the Abo Forfait reservation as described in the link Peter gave you.
