Hi, me and two friends are interailing this summer and so far our route seems to be fine (Amsterdam/Berlin/Prague/Krakow/Bratislava/Budapest/Belgrade) However, from here we were hoping to get to Budva in Montenegro (head it's a party place with lots of beaches), then to travel up to Split and to Pula for Dimensions festival. Split is mainly just to break the journey down.
We were thinking of getting the night train to Bar in Montenegro and then a bus to Budva? If anyone has any info on this bus it would be much appreciated as we can't find anything online. Because of the lack of rail lines in Croatia and Montenegro, we were thinking of also getting a bus from Budva to Split - however, we have no idea how much this would cost and if it's possible. Maybe we would have to get a bus from Budva-Dubrovnik and from there to Split?
Any information on these busses would be appreciated!
thanks

Hej,
ther are frequent bus connections along the Adriatic coast, Bar - Budva - Kotor - Herceg Novi should run about half hourly. Also connections to Dubrovnk are fairly frequent, especially in summer.
As there are no comprehensive online sources regarding timetables are fares, just turn up at the bus terminal and check everything there. Expect fares between 5-10€ for domestic travel in Montenegro and around 15€ to Dubrovnik, depending on where you start.
From Dubrovnik, continue to Split, again, connections are frequent.
Split - Pula is a bit complicated...the direct way would be via Ogulin to Rijeka, the by bus to Lupoglav and finally to Pula.

again simply use bus: along the coast in Croatia-about hourly for 20 hrs in the day-longer trips also can do overnite. Forget the trains for there-let your IR end on the last nite into Bar (do NOT go that far for Budva-Bar is a deadend-have to comeback sameway). It is now announced that the jadrolinija ferry along the coast will also come back-2/3x/week-a great way for easy overntie trvael. Split is a dump-make a pitstop somewhere else.
