Hey,

So we are 3 21 year old boys, and we've decided we want to go interrailing around europe this summer

We're on a fairly tight budget, and we want to spend most of our time in eastern europe.

We haven't decided exactly which cities we want to visit yet, but our basic plan include getting a boat to France, and from there going

France - Netherlands
Netherlands - Germany
Germany - Czech
Czech - Slovakia
Slovakia - Hungary
and Hungary - Croatia

We want to do most of our travelling on night trains, and wondered if with the extra fees for night trains it's even worth us buying an interrail pass?

We're going to buy a 10 in 22 day pass, and end in croatia, where we will stay for a final week and then fly back.

We won't be travelling overly much in each country, and will most likely stay in the capitals or bigger cities.

Any suggestions on cities we should visit in each country, and what we could do there would also be great..

Thanks.

Hej,

since you dont have an exact route it is difficult to tell whether an IR pass pays off or not. Note that extra supplements for night trains have to paid using regular tickets as well.
I could imagine that a 5in10 IR pass would be a good option for the first part of your route, doing the last part in Croatia with regular tickets. The IR pass would provide most flexibility for a decent price, regular tickets which would cost around the same usually must be prebooked and then can only be used on a certain train and date.
