Hi guys!! :)
I am travelling alone and think Im possibly being wayyy too ambitious with my plan (which im expecting to change over the time..). I am going at the end of June for a month with changes every day.
Do you think that its trying to cover too much ground trying to go to Spain, Portugal, Italy (i could fly from Lisbon to here), Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Germany in one month (ending in Amsterdam on the last day of my pass and then staying until Im ready to fly home)!? Especially as I have to stay in Lisbon for 5 days as Im going to a festival there (on until the 9th.. my pass runs out on the 27th July). This also means I am having to stay not too far from Portugal for the week beforehand!) advice would be great on ways to cover as much ground in these places as possible!!
Beccah :) xx

Hi.
I recommend two or three days per city. It depends of course which city it is (small, big, ...).
Are you coming from the UK and travelling to Lisbon?
Then have a stop in Paris, cross the Pyrenees by the Little Yellow Train, contineu to Barcelona, Madrid and then Lisbon.
Then you continue in Italy...
As starting point Rome, then via Venice to Slovenia (Lake Bled), Croatia (Split) - here some steps by bus for example to Dubrovnik and go on to Montenegro.
The an amazing route startin in Bar to Belgrade.
Budapest - Vienna - Prague - Berlin - Amsterdam
Italy - Slovenia border crossing: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
Train schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Montenegro - Serbia: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/bar-to-belgrade
I hope this will help you planing your trip - and if you like railcc, support us and buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] :)

Hi,
some additional thoughts:
- You can travel Paris - Lisbon within one day with this connection :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-lisbon
- If you want to spend some time around Barcelona or in the Pyrennees as Peter suggested I would do this after you have been in Lisbon: Paris - Lisbon - Madrid - BCN - Petit Train Jaune - to Italy
- Please do not go by plane during your trip...makes no sense at all. It is not ecological, and you have a rail ticket after all. It is much more interesting to travel this route by rail than to just hop on a plane and go. Which is a bit dull, in my opinion. ;)
- In principle your route should work within one month, although since you want to stay that long in Lisbon and leave only on the 9th you might be forced to rush towards the end of the trip to fit in every places you want to go.
- Where do you want to go before Lisbon?

Thanks so much guys youre super! Sorry totally unclear, I was planning on starting my trip by flying to Barcelona on the 26th (i am going to Paris after Amsterdam once my pass has ran out anyway - plus flights seem way cheaper than the train from the UK) then I'm heading to Sevilla and Madrid before getting to Lisbon on the 4th... That gives me 8 days to do that so thats good.. but I didnt want to go back on myself hence the flight to Italy (plus its way cheaper than a night train again).. Do you think this plan makes sense? Also.. thanks Peter.. great to have the info on Slovenia with crossing the borders etc.. I had planned to go to Lake Bled it looks pretty awesome so good job on reading my mind! I also really wanted to go to Montenegro but didnt think I'd have time so its good to know you think its possible!! Also, have either of you guys been to Hallstatt, Austria? Is it worth going here instead of Vienna (due to limited time) or should I stick with Vienna because its easier and meant to be very beautful! I'm just thinking as its nice to get off into the countryside every now and again!
Thanks again!! :D
