Hi.
First step is by point to point ticket from Halmstad to Copenhagen. You will get a discount of 50%: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail
From Copenhagen you have several options:
Copenhagen to Amsterdam by night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/copenhagen-to-amsterdam
Amsterdam - Paris: attention, don't use the direct Thalys trains (expensive), use slower but free connections. https://rail.cc/en/interrail/amsterdam-to-paris
Or more direct: Copenhagen - Hamburg - Paris. Also possible and recommended to use a night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/copenhagen-to-paris
Paris - Barcelona: don't use the direct night train (horrible expensiv reservation fees for Interrailers), use an inexpensive connection by French night train, for example to Perpignan.
From Perpignan cross by Little Yellow Train the Pyrenees - amazing train without roof in the summer months and free to use for Interrailers! :)
Paris - Barcelona: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-barcelona
Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/villefranche-de-conflent-to-latour-de-carol
In Spain most trains require an extra reservation: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/spain/es
Connections: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
Travel around Spain.
Now your way back - it depends on the number of travel days left.
Examples:
Barcelona - Nice - Venice - Lake Bled (Slovenia) - Budapest - Prague - Berlin
Barcelona - Milan - crossing the Alps - Munich - Berlin
Or the direct way.
Berlin to Malmö is easy by direct overnight train - the train is using a ferry, you can either stay in the train and sleep or go on deck and have a nice night on the sea. :)

Have sunny days, Peter :)
