... belgrade, budapest, krakow, warsaw.

There are 4 of us, and our budget is around £1200 per person. Our route is starting in oslo (getting there by flight on the 27th) starting a 22 day interrail pass on the 29th of June then going down through central/eastern Europe down to Belgrade and then back up to Warsaw on the 20th of July then flying back on the 24th.

day to day plan - imgur.com/ahVdu

We plan to get night trains on every leg and hostels in every city we visit.

£289 for the train ticket
£25 per day for hostel, food, drink etc. for 28 days = £700
plane tickets = £100
Spare = £100
total = £1189

None of us have done anything like this before so are a little clueless as to whether this is a good plan.

Any advice on this? Are we being to ambitious? Have we missed somthing out?

Thanks,

Hi.
Oslo, Copenhagen and Amsterdam are expensive cities! :o
There you have calculate a bit more per day.
Have a look at the hostel prices: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]

On Amsterdam to Prague you can stop in Berlin.
Vienna to Zagreb... think about travelling via Slovenia (Lake Bled).
Vienna to Lake Bled is also possible via Munich if you like (not the direct way, but possible).

For schedules have a look here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

The calculation looks good (except for the three starting cities). Buy your food in supermarkets and stay in hostels with kitchen. Food, beer and accommodation are always the most important values for which you spend money. :)

And if you like railcc, support it and buy your official Interrail passes here in our partner (see blue bar at the bottom). Free delivery to the UK. Thank you! :)

Peter :)

Thanks, yeah Berlin was suppose to be there I just missed it out.

I've noticed that there is sometimes a cost for night trains, is this always the case? if so roughly how much will it be? (lowest class)
Thanks for that link to the train times, turns out only half of the legs can be done by night.

And I also didn't realize how expensive Scandinavia is compared to everywhere else.

Thanks,

Hi.
To find out the different categories in night trains, we listed all European night trains with detailed fares for Interrailers here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
If online booking is possible, we added the details on where to buy them.
And yes, most night trains require a reservation - I usually travel in 6-bed-couchettes. Not to expensive but I can sleep and save the money for a hostel.
