Hi

As the trip to venice https://rail.cc/en/ljubljana-venice-train/f3663 takes 6 hours by train, I was wondering whether it may be worth travelling to the coast and taking a ferry across, to make a day of it and using alternative travel?

Appreciate your comments

Thanks :)

Hi.
A very scenic route is first from Bled Jezero to Nova Gorica: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/bled-to-nova-gorica
Then you have to change to Gorizia (the same city, but the Slovenian-Italian border is splitting the town). Distance: 4 km, by bus for EUR 1,10.
From Gorizia use direct and free regional train to Venice.
Peter :)
