Hi all, I'll be traveling with my life partner through Europe on June 15 - 25 with the following plan.

Fri 6/15: Venice (Arrives afternoon at airport and checks into hotel)
Sat 6/16: Venice (sightseeing)
Sun 6/17: Venice -> Vienna (Night train: Venezia @ 21:05 - Wien @ 08:22)
Mon 6/18: Vienna (Arrives morning and checks into hotel)
Tue 6/19: Vienna -> Salzburg (Wien @ 11:36 - Hauptbahnhof (Hbf) @ 14:29)
Wed 6/20: Salzburg (sightseeing)
Thu 6/21: Salzburg (sightseeing)
Fri 6/22: Salzburg -> Munich (13:09 - 15:17)
Sat 6/23: Munich?
Sun 6/24: Munich?
Mon 6/25: Munich (Departs afternoon from Munich Airport)

I read that using EuRail is a good way to travel around Europe and have the following questions to my above plan.

Is Eurail Select Pass Flexi most appropriate ticket for me as oppose to getting point-to-point tickets?
Are the boarding countries considered as Italy, Austria, and Germany?
If I start rail travel on June 17 night train from Venice and end on June 22 in Munich, how many rail days is it counted as? As in how many days should I purchase?

I'm comparing EuRail point-to-point versus Select Pass Flexi tickets in terms of pricing too. I was quoted EuRail point-to-point tickets for all 3 train journeys (2 pax with reservation) as EUR386.

Thanks in advance for your answers and any suggestions to days required for each city.

Hi.
So lets summarize:

Venice - Vienna
Vienna - Salzburg
Salzburg - Munich

Travel days: 3

Countries: Italy, Austria, Germany

I recommend point to point tickets, not an Eurail Pass.

Venice - Vienna: as e-ticket either via OEBB ( [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux] ) or Trenitalia ( [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] )

Vienna - Salzburg: as e-ticket via OEBB ( [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux] )

Salzburg - Munich: use the Bayern-Ticket from Deutsche Bahn ( [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] - select: Bavaria). For two persons the price is EUR 29 and you can travel from Salzburg to Munich by direct train. Attention: only use R, RE, RB or IRE trains.
This ticket is available in Salzburg for example at the ticket machines of DB.

Order the first two tickets as early as you can to get cheap fares!!

Hi Peter,

I've purchased the first tickets online (night train 236 from Venice to Vienna via Trenitalia) and will be buying point to point tickets for the other two journey while there for flexibility.

Thanks for your most helpful advise!

Pleasure to help and save your money. :)

I forgot to mention: on Vienna - Salzburg you also have the Westbahn. Online booking is possible and cheap.
Have a look here for details (you will find the link there): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-company/westbahn/80
