Myself and a couple of friends are heading on an interrail trip in a couple of days.

A couple of the journeys we're making are from Prague to Rome via Vienna and from Barcelona to Paris.

On the route from Vienna to Rome the stops between Villach and Udine aswell as between Venice and Padova appear to need reservations.

On the route between Barcelona and Paris the Montpellier to Nimes also requires a reservation.

I've tried to find out how to book them without much success. When I try to put them into the railcc reservation booking system it seems to fail to find it.

Is it just a matter of buying them at the actual station or can someone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks, Conor.

Hi.
Always have a look at the schedules, often there are free connections available or connections which avoid trains with expensive reservation fees: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
If online booking is available, it is mentioned beyond the train types. Often online booking for Interrail travellers is not possible. We would like to offer it ... but ... it is simply not possible. :o
So often the station is the best place to get them during your trip.

Prague - Vienna: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/prague-to-vienna

Vienna - Rome: the best option is by night train. If possible, buy the reservation already at the beginning of your trip at a station. For example in Prague (or even Berlin if you stay there before):

Rome to Barcelona ... several options available. Even by ferry. Or by stop along the French coast (Nice for example). For details see the schedules.

Barcelona to Paris: never use the direct night train. Include for example the Little Yellow Train crossing the Pyrenees... either coming from Italy/France or on your way back from Barcelona to Paris.
Barcelona-Paris: use the French night trains.

Perpignan - Barcelona by Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/

Barcelona - Paris (also with option of Little Yellow Train): https://rail.cc/en/interrail/barcelona-to-paris

And if you like, order your Interrail Pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] . You directly support our work and all the information you got now. Thank you. :)
