Hi everyone,

I am trying to buy a night train reservation between Florence and Munich, I know I use the Rome - Munich train.

Really stupid question, as it is cheaper to get a ticket from Rome to Munich rather than Florence to Munich.... will I be ok if I just book this reservation? And just get on the train when it gets to Florence?

I can't see why it would be a problem, but I don't want to get there and panic :)

Any help is great :)

Hi,

I am not quite sure what you want to do?

Buy a ticket Roma - Munich? And a reservation for Florence - Munich? And you want to go from Florence to Munich? This should work but I am curious where do you want to buy this ticket? Or are you travelling with InterRail?

Sorry that probably didn't make much sense.

I have an interrail ticket, I just need to buy the reservation.

I am starting my trip in Florence and want to get to Munich using the night train, I just need the reservation for the couchette. I know the train starts in Rome, but I was planning to get on at Florence and I don't know if it will matter as I assume my reservation will say Rome - Munich.

I am planning to buy the reservation online.

Thanks :)

Hej,

of course you can get your reservation for Florence - Munich! For InterRail, the price is the same for all relations. Have a look here :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/rome-munich-cnl-484/34

If you would buy a reservation from Rome, you would need to claim your place/bed within 15 minutes from departure!

Wherer do you want to buy your reservation? I recommend to do so either via our online shop (while purchasing your IR pass) ;) or via the website of DB.

I was actually looking at a difference web site, as I can't get the reservation on the railcc shop :( It says that it is unavailable online.

Dam I didn't know about the 15 min thing. Hmm

Well, the 15 minute thing should not worry you as you do not need a reservation from Rome but from Florence if you enter the train in Florence. The price is the same as I told you before...if the price at the website you are looking at is not the same for both destinations you should not buy from there!

If the reservation is not available via our partner, have a look at the link I posted above where we described how to get the reservation online from the DB website. :)

No I won't be buying it from there then.

I have looked at the DB website and have tried to select the reservation I want, but I don't know which option I select when I only want the reservation. And it won't allow me to put in that it should be a Youth reservation, which I think is a bit cheaper.

Thanks for all the help :)

The procedure is explained in detail at the link I posted above! There is no special Youth reservation price, you can see the official reservation prices for IR at the link above as well! :)
