Hi Mariana,
I do not know if EuRail is the right option for you, at least on the first part of your trip until Romania.
First, please note that currently there are no international trains to/from Greece. That means that you have to cross the border on foot (not recommended as the distances are often quite long), by taxi or by bus. Often it is easier to just get a bus eg from Thessaloniki to Skopje or Sofia than to travel to the last station served by Greek trains then cross the border and continue by a Macedonian/Bulgarian train.
So, depending on where you go in Romania, you might think about a bus Athens - Thessaloniki - Sofia, then continue by train to Romania. Or, if you prefer train, you could go until Thessaloniki by train and the cross the border by bus.
From Romania, you can get rather easily to Paris by train: First, take an overnight train to Budapest, then continue via Vienna to Munich and travel by CNL night train to Paris. Note that you will need reservations for both night trains when travelling with EuRail. You can find timings and prices at our night trains section :arr: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-night-train
On the way back to Athens, I would recommend this way: Paris - Munich by night train again, then continue to Venezia and take a ferry to Patras. From Patras you can travel by bus/train to Athens.
Have a look here for basic information about EuRail travel :arr: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-eurail
And if you decide to go by EuRail, please purchase your tickets via our partner (see bottom of page) to support our work, thank you. :)
