Hi.

Awesome website you have set up here. I have pretty much planned all my travel routes.

I will be travelling with a Eurail pass this year and was hoping to find a cost effective and cheap route from Freiburg im Breisgau to Lyon.

Could you please suggest how this may be possible.

Thanks

Hi.
The best option travelling absolutely free of extra fees is via Geneve (Switzerland).
From Freiburg to Geneve you can use every type of train for free.
Several connections per day.
Example:

Freiburg(Breisgau) Hbf dep 0901 - ICE
Basel SBB arr: 0947

Basel SBB dep: 1003 - IC
Biel/Bienne arr: 1110

Biel/Bienne dep: 1119 - IC
Geneve arr: 1246

In Geneva I recommend a short break. Very nice there.

And then continue by free and direct local train to Lyon.

Example:

Geneve dep: 1529
Lyon arr: 1729

And if you want to support railcc, buy your Eurail Pass in our partner... Thank you!! :)
Peter :)
