Hi everybody,
let's say you have a camping gaz stove and a can of Ravioli. Then you can simply open the can and put it on the stove, right? :D
And what about campsites where gaz-stoves aren't allowed but there is a public kitchen. I don't think that they'd like to see when you put your can on a hotplate, but how can you solve that problem when you don't carry a pot with you? :D
Funny question, but thanks already for your answer

Hi.
If I have my camping gaz stove with me (and I often have as I just enjoy sitting somewhere on a little train station in the nowhere and having meal), I always have as well a little aluminum pot in my backpack.
During transportation I put the stove, cutlery, spices in it, so the pot doesn't steal me to much space. :)
But the most important thing is: if you heat a ravioli can, small and toxic particles will peel away from the can and get into your food. :o
So I definitely recommend to use a pot to cook!

Yeah,
such a small alu pot (which comes with a lid of course) is definitely very useful. Since you also want to cook something else than canned food, maybe pasta, or rice etc... While travelling you can store lots of small pieces in it which otherwise would easily get lost somewhere in the downs of your backpack... ;)
I never had problems using my stove on campsites, sometimes there are designated areas for cooking but I never had problems. You can also cook on a Gracht in Amsterdam, on remote places of a station platform, in front of a railway station... :)

I've done a similar thing in the past with baked beans. I bought a couple of aluminium trays (the ones you would get a curry in), popped it on a disposable BBQ (our gas stove broke), put the tray cover over it and wait about 10mins.
Works a treat.
