Hi!
We will be in Paris in mid June and I wanted to know whether it would be worthwhile getting the Paris Museum Pass beforehand? We will only have two full days, Saturday and Sunday. We are also students, does that mean we will get discounted entry to any museums? Can we just use our normal student cards or do we need anything else?
We are staying in the Montmartre area of Paris and want to do some touristy sight seeing while we are there. A lot of websites have information about museums but the information is usually from 2010 so I don't know whether it's are still the same. Also, does anyone have any recommendations about where to go and where not to go?
Thanks!

'besides higher prices not really much will have changed.
I higly doubt if student will give much of red-if it does, it means real students in noisy groups shepherded by worried teachers. At weeknds tehre is a ticket jeune-allows unlimited use of RATP metro/bus/tram etc. in Paris or area round too-that may also give reductions-ask for the leaflet.

Hi Megan,
if there are student discounts depends from museum to musem, usually discounts apply for anyone under a certain age (26 mostly); many museums offer discounts or even free entry for residents of the EU under 26.
The easiest to find out is to check at the official websites of the museums you want to go. In general, I dont use special museum pass offers since I think that one museum per day is enough and I want to spend the rest of the time discovering the city - in that case they dont pay off.
As mentioned before, you can get the Ticket jeune week-end on both sat and sun, which is a day ticket for all public transport in Paris for everyone under 26; it is really cheap at only 3,55€ currently.
Where not to go? Well, within the touristy centre of Paris, which is rather small compared to eg Berlin or London, you dont have to worry...and I assume you wont get to the suburbs which can be problematic in some areas. Just take care of your belongings (pickpockets tend to go after easy prey) and you should be fine. :)
