Hello!

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the train connections and night train sections. What I mean is:

1. Are these the only connections available, or can I go to any cities I please? I will be starting in Geneva because it is the closest big city to me. However, I don't see Geneva mentioned in any of the connections.

Also, when checking with voyages-sncf to see if the connections are full yet, some of the times are not even the same as what's listed here, or there are more. I'm just confused...

2. Can I ONLY use the connections listed on this site, or if they are just recommendations?

3. Am I free to use whatever connections I want as long as the trains aren't full yet?

4. If I'm correct, it's possible to reserve trains through railcc even if there are no additional charges (or if reservation possible but not necessary), right? This is to be sure that I can take the trains I want, so that my trip doesn't get ruined by an unexpected full train, or ruined by having to stand for 6 hours in a train that has no capacity limit, and full seats.

5. Am I doing this right??

Thank you!
Danielle

Hi Danielle.

Please read the information bellow the given connections: ... these are very carefully researched schedules created by the railccs. ... Beside these mentioned train schedules, there are other connections available. Please use therefore an online schedule planer.

Read also here: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route

1) See information above.
The online schedule planers won't show you all the connections we show you. Because machines are stupid, the railccs not! ;) And use an other planer than the one mentioned by you. Not the best one!
Which connection you are talking about?
2) NO. Much more - see links above.
3) Depends - some trains require extra reservations - if you use a standard schedule planer, compare it with the reservation section here on railcc: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
4) Correct. But if you travel alone, you mostly will find a seat. Maybe you have to change the seat during the trip, but I won't spent extra money for a free train.
5) I hope it is clear now... :)

Peter :)
