Buying Interrail Pass - how long before departure ?

Seems a bit of a silly questions. But when would you recommend actually buying the IR Pass? E.g a month before, two months before departure...

Hi.
I recommend to order two or three weeks before departure.
The shipping time in the railcc shop is usually given with allow up to 7 business days - it is usually much faster (UK: 1-2 business days, Western-Europe: 2-3 business days, etc).
But there is no guarantee for this fast delivery. So you have to calculate with these 7 business days mentioned as official shipping time!
There is no limitation on Interrail Pass sales - so you will always get one.
