Hey I have a few questions (that I know have been answered a million times before), I just want to make sure I get this right.
1) When you talk about recording journeys, do you mean on the questionnaire section of the ticket cover?
2) Before getting on the train do I have to present the ticket at the desk?
3) (In regards to supplements and whatnot). When I take my ticket up to the desk, is that where they are going to inform me of any additional costs?
4) Have you ever had any trouble with a ticket person not recognizing the interail ticket?
Thanks so much for any help!

Hi
I have just come back from my first inter rail holiday. Went for three weeks in 11 countries so this is based on my experience:
1) Yes although no one ever looked at this.
2) I just got on the train if no surcharge or booking was needed. Never had any problems with just presenting my inter rail ticket.
3) To know if a reservation or supplament is needed I consulted by inter rail timetable from Thomas Cook. This is a thick book full of time tables. Takes a bit of getting used to as the tables can get a bit confusing but once you get the hang of it it's great. Updated once a month. If a surcharge or reservation was needed I did this before boearding the train.
4) I only had one ticket inspector in Praque say momentarily that it was not valid for the train I was on and then quickly changed his mind. I had a 22 day continous ticket ie it was valid for a block of 22 days. However on page two of the ticket was 10 boxes for the ticket inspectors to stamps/punch which I think is just issued to everyone even if they don't need it like for my ticket. I found some inspectors stamping/punching it and some didn't. One inspector ticked it! I only had one check my passport against the number on the ticket.
Hope this helps
