Hi all!
My husband and I are planning our first trip to Europe and would like to utilize the eurail. We will be travelling with our one year old boy and would like to know your thoughts on how to go about these cities. Our concern is that we don't want to travel by train more than 3-4 hours at a time so would appreciate if you can also give me some cities worth a stop in between the ones I specified below:
Amsterdam
Brussels
Munich, Berlin
Prague
possible Vienna
Basel, Lucerne
firm on last stop being Paris
Which eurail ticket would work best for us -- I understand I may use the Select Pass with Saver Option for family travelling together? Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
- First, have a look here to get all basic informations regarding travelling with a EuRail pass :arr: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-eurail
- The Saver option would be the best option for you, your baby boy would travel for free of course. :)
- Between most cities you do not have to worry about travel times, only Brussels - Munich/Berlin and Vienna - Basel/Lucerne are longer routes. Have you considered using night trains as well? You could book a Double sleeper compartment if you want to travel alone with your family.
- What about Munich/Berlin? Do you want to go to both cities or only one of them?
- Regarding connections, it would be more convenient to start in Brussels, then go to Amsterdam - would this be possible or are you fixed to start in Amsterdam due to your inbound flight?
- If you are travelling during the day only, you will only need a reservation for the Lyria TGV service from Switzerland to Paris, all other daytime trains can be used without reservations - just hop on the trains whenever you want. On the route Amsterdam/Brussels (from Brussels you would have to go to Cologne first to get the night trains) you could take overnight trains to either Berlin or Munich, as well as from Vienna to Zürich (for Basel and Lucerne) if you want to.
On the way from Amsterdam to Brussels a stop in either Antwerpen, or, a bit farther away, Brugge might be worth it; in Switzerland you could make a day trip to Graubünden (St Moritz, Berninapass, Davos,...), or make a round trip starting from Lucerne
Just ask if you need further help...and if you want to support our work at railcc it would be great if you'd buy your tickets via our partner, thank you. :)

Thanks for the lengthy reply, Flo. :D
The only inbound flight available to us from Manila is to Amsterdam. Thus no choice for us but to start our trip there.
From there we plan to visit Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, and France.
Please enlighten me -- I don't understand what Eurail Select 5 countries 5,6,8,10,15 days in 2 months mean.

Hi.
Here the explanation for the Eurail Select Pass - and yes, the offer might sound a bit confusing at the beginning. :)
First you select the number of countries you want to travel in (3, 4 or 5 countries). These have to be bordering countries.
Just have a look on the 5 countries option and play (left site at the bottom): https://rail.cc/en/eurail-select-pass
In the next step you select the number of days you want to travel in a time period of 2 months: 5, 6, 8, 10 or 15 days.
There are of course other types of tickets available (Eurail Global Pass including more than 20 countries, ...).
Peter :)
