Hi!
I was just about to buy our Global Flexi Saver pass for 15 days in 2 months through railcc and I got to the Checkout and saw that the proposed commencement date for the first day of use of the pass is recorded in the order. Are we locked into this date or can we start it earlier or later if necessary when we actually get to Europe?
Thanks
Ashy

Hi Ashy.
The date you fix on your purchase is the first day you can activate your pass. But you don't need to.
You have a time period of 6 months within you have to activate your Eurail pass from the commencement date.
Please read here: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-eurail

I recommend: select a commencement date one or two days before you planed to start travelling. Then you are flexible and you can decide spontaneously which day you want to start exactly. :)

Have a nice trip and thank you for supporting the railcc project with your purchase! :)

Thanks Peter! I have just completed the purchase of the Eurail Pass and I now feel that the excitement for the trip in July is getting more real. Thanks again for the great advice and for the railcc service.

Hi Peter!
Sorry to keep asking questions re Eurail bookings but I am a little confused as I try to make a reservation through railcc. I hope you can help.
I checked availability and prices for a reservation on the 08:23 TGV out of Paris Gare Lyon to Dijon on 28 July 2012 for 2 travelers using a Eurail Global Saver pass and the price shows as 12EUR for two travelers. When I move this to the Shopping cart and after selecting the All Seat type, the cart shows 1xAll and the cost 12EUR. Does this mean one seat is 12EUR and I need to go through the process again for the second traveler or does 1xAll refer to one reservation for two travelers?
Thanks
Ashy

Hej Ashy,

the 12€ should be for two reservations but I cant check that myself at the moment. Anyway, if you have time I would recommend to use regular TER trains instead of the TGV to save the money for the reservation.

Two examples:

Paris Bercy 1338 - 1630 Dijon :arr: TER train, no reservation necessary; runs approx hourly (some connections require a change at Laroche Migennes)

Paris Lyon 1453 - 1634 Dijon :arr: TGV train, 6€ reservation frequent daily connections
