Hi having looked up the times for this route I can see that it will take us about 10 hours, and we have a choice of either an intercity day train, or a 'euronight' night train. What I can't seem to find is any indication of prices ? If we were to take the night train we would want to reserve a private 2 person cabin. Do either of these trains need to be booked way in advance (due to leave in about a weeks time from budapest)? Will we be able to buy a ticket for the entire journey from Budapest ?

Thanks

Hi.
If you want you can buy the ticket for the day train (in direction of Brasov) online here: [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail[/ux]
But I am sure, you will get it cheaper directly in Budapest.

For the night train, I can only give you the prices for rail pass travellers (Interrail or Eurail):
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/budapest-bucharest-en-473/120

To calculate the maximum night train price, take the fare of the day ticket plus the reservation fee for rail pass travellers of the night train.

I recommend to buy the ticket in Budapest (or an other train station before on your trip... Austria, Germany, ...).

Peter :)
