Hi guys,
So my friends and I have finally got our rough itinerary sorted. Planning to take in the following cities (in the order listed most likely):
Venice
Ljubljana
Bled
Budapest
Krakow
Prague
Berlin
Amsterdam
Now my question is, which of these cities do you recommend booking hostels in advance? As we are flying to Venice and flying back from Amsterdam we've already booked places for those two. Which of the others do you advise we book considering we are going in July as a group of 3?
We'd like to be quite flexible, but at the same time do not want to be searching for hours at a time to find a bed for the night!
Cheers,
Ben

hi.
There is no general answer possible.
It depends on when you travel (main season summer or already now in spring). If you stay in a city during the weekend: Friday to Sunday (more tourists), if there are public holidays, festivals, trade fares and so on ... :)
Also important: don't book too much in advance, otherwise you will lose your freedom as you are fixed on arrival dates in the cities. Pay attention to the hostel policies: cancellation time is usually up to 24/48 hours in advance.
As Amsterdam is expensive, it is a good choice that you booked already in advance.
In Berlin, Prague and Krakow you can get cheap and good offers.
And if you want to support the railcc project, make the reservations via this link: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]
For you the price is the same! Thank you. :)
So browse the mentioned site - and you will get a feeling if still places left or not.
Sorry for this general answer... ;)
Peter :)
