Hi , we are getting a train this morning from Marior in Slovenia to Keszthely in Hungary. The whole thing seems fairly complicated and expensive, but in Maribor they could only sell us a ticket up to a certain point in Hungary, and then we are to ask on the train for a ticket extension to take us the rest of the way. Will they accept Euros on the train or just HUF ? If HUF are neccesary is there likely to be any money changing serice at Maribor station as we are now quite pushed for time ?

Thanks, any help much appreciated

Hi,

I dont think you will be able to pay with Euro on the train, however I would get the extra ticket at a station anyway as you could be charged extra on the train.
As far as I remember there was a possibility to change money at Maribor station last summer.

Good luck

Thanks for the answer, just to clea it up in case anyone else is wondering, there isnt anywhere to change money at the station, we also couldnt find a bank open in Maribor sat morning. Tried a post office in Pragersko, they had every curreny except Forints. Some conductors on the train will accept euros, some wont.
