i would like to travel from a southwestern city called Stavanger in Norway to Munich and i checked the Europe Rail and didnt find any information , should i go to other cities in Norway in order to get the right train ? Or there's no direct train from Stavanger to Munich and i need to interchange in a stop station(s) ?

Hi.
Like Jaykob already told, use the schedule planers: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route

The best route is the one:

Bergen/Stvanger - Oslo: https://rail.cc/en/train/bergen-to-oslo

Oslo (via Gothenborg) - Copenhagen: https://rail.cc/en/train/oslo-to-copenhagen

Copenhagen - Hamburg: https://rail.cc/en/train/copenhagen-to-hamburg

Hamburg - Munich: https://rail.cc/en/train/hamburg-to-munich

Do you want to travel by point to point tickets or do you have a rail pass for this route?

Peter :)

Point to point ticket = you buy a ticket for each step of your trip.
If you don't make a round trip in Europe it is sometimes cheaper.

Rail Pass please read here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail

If I know you travel date and your country of residence, I could give you more help.

Hi.
Please no email addresses in the forum, as otherwise you will get spam by automatic robots surfing around the internet. :o
And let's discuss your trip here, as I can't answer details in private chats, don't have the time... sorry. :os

So maybe fix your route first and then let's see what you want to do...
If you only want to travel around Munich then at the end of the trip, I am not sure if you need a railpass for, as there is a local ticket called Bayern Länder-Ticket for 21 EUR per day: www.bahn.de/i/view/overseas/en/prices/germany/laender-ticket.shtml
No need to book in advance, you will get it at ticket machines easilly.
Then you can visit Füssen (Castle Neuschwanstein), Nueremberg, Regensburg, Augsburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and so on...

For Stavanger to Munich ... at least from Copenhagen you have the option to get a special price ticket for EUR 39 one-way if you book early in advance.
So if you have fix dates and a fix route, think about point to point... if you want flexibility and add other places like for example Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, then an Eurail pass might be a good solution.

thanks Peter : )
i decided to take plane from Bergen to Munich by KLM , seems cheaper than by trains

but there's another problems;'
my fight will arrive at 16:40 1/8 in Munich airport ,
i will stay in Bavaria from 1/8 to 8/8 and wanna go Munich , Fussen , Salzburg and Vienna (if possible) depending on the local fetivals or anything speical!?
so is this route possible ;
Munich -> Fussen -> Munich -> Salzburg -> Vienna

what route from DB should i choose? i checked that the EuRail Austria - Germany Pass for 5 days in 2 month is $324....hmm..quite expensive for me , is it possible to take DB route ?

thanks a lot

ah ! two more question : p

1.why i cant find Germany in EuRail one country pass -.-?

2.eg: Choose 4 days within 1 month , what does it mean by 4 days ? is it 4 travelling days by train ? 4 times?

thanks

Hi.

1) Because no Eurail ONE COUNTRY Pass Germany exists. There is a German Rail Pass, but I don't have information about it.

2) It means you have 4 travel days within a period of 1 month. Just fill in your travel days manually in your ticket whenever you need them. Definition travel day: https://rail.cc/en/eurail

Concerning your route: for Bavaria use the Deutsche Bahn Länderticket Bayern for EUR 21 per day (link mentioned above). For your trips to Salzburg and Vienna check the website of the Austrian national railways ÖBB ( [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux] ) and the one of Germany ( [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] ). Both offer special fares if booking early.

thanks again Peter !! you did a great help !
for Bayern Länder-Ticket , i followed yout link and found that there's 2 kinds of ticket ,
Bayern (Bavaria) & Bayern-Ticket Single/Nacht (Bavaria-Ticket Single) , 31 and 22 euro. respectively
is the former one for few persons and the later one for a single man ?

that means if i wanna travel from Munich -> fussen , then Fussen back to Munich , Munich - Salzburg , Salzburg back to Munich , then i need to purchase 4 Bayern Länder-Tickets right ? (if i stay overnight )

and for every ticket i could use it to anywhere in Bavaria within certain hours ? ( if i dont stay overnight )

thanks again !

Hi.
Just read the rules given at the website of bahn.
Valid after 09:00h in the morning in regional trains - but on all routes you travel, there are frequent and good connections by regional trains. Don't use IC and ICE trains.
For you: Bayern-Ticket Single (Bavaria-Ticket Single) - EUR 20 per day at a ticket machine (English language available).
You can even use public transportation of Munich with this ticket.
Salzburg is in Austria, but just at the German border - so the ticket is still valid until Salzburg. For your return to Munich buy it in Salzburg at a German DB ticket machine!
Product details (but in German language): www.bahn.de/regional/view/mdb/alle/dbregio/ausfluege/2012/MDB102022-110908_geltungsbereich_by_t_by_t_s_final.pdf

Munich - Fuessen
Fuessen - Munich
Munich - Slazburg
Salzburg - Munich

If you stay overnight it is: 4 X 20 EUR = 80 EUR

On your trip Fuessen - Munich you could add in between Nuremberg. Also very nice old town and castle which is easy to reach (walk) from the Central railway station.

Hi.
I would go for hostels... or try to find campsites at the place you want to stay.
It is not allowed to stay in free nature like it is the case in Scandinavia.

No... there shouldn't be a problem with tents at the custom! Depends on what you transport in your tent. ;) *joking*
