Hi, everyone,
I want to buy the interRail 10 travel days in 22 days, there is a problem for me. Can I use it to take the night train? or do I have to buy extra night train tickets?
For example, I want to travel from Copenhagen to Amsterdam in 13th,Apr,2012, and from Luxembourg to Berlin, so, what should I buy with the 10 travel days in 22 days interRail ticket?
Hope you can help me with my problem, thanks!

Hi.
Yes you have to pay extra for night trains. Some offer free 2nd class seats, but in general you will have to pay.
There are different categories available. Cheapest one (if available) are the standard seats or sleperettes (more comfortable seats). I recommend to use couchettes: the standard is 6 berths per cabin. It is cheap and okay to spent the night. You can lock the door, so your luggage is save.
We listed all the night trains for Interrail here:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

In your case by night train from Copenhagen to Amsterdam would be ~ EUR 11.50 in a seat 2nd class.
Always check the row Rail Pass which is important for you:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/copenhagen-amsterdam-cnl40473/13
We also list information where to get this extra reservation if you want to buy it online in advance (not always possible). Otherwise you will have to get it at railway stations during your trip.

The route Copenhagen to Amsterdam is also possible by free day trains:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail/copenhagen-to-amsterdam

Using a night train will help you saving the money for a hostel - and you save travel time. So you have to decide for your personally, what's the best way. :)

By the way: there is also a special rule for night trains which will help you saving travel days: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

And if you like the railcc project, support it and purchase your official Interrail pass online here:

Thank you, Peter :)
