Hi,
I would like to take the ALARIS for this route instead of the AVE, because I think the landscape is worth a look and I don´t want to rush trough it, although the ALARIS takes 12 hours. Does anyone have experiences with this connection? Do I have to change trains? Is it worth the time?
Thank you for help :)

Hi!
Well...I think both routes run through interesting, though mostly not spectacular landscapes. However, since the Alaris is a bit cheaper (6,50€ vs 10€ reservation), runs partly along the Mediterranean (some stretches between Barcelona and Valencia), and through the El Chorro gorge north of Malaga it may be more rewarding to use the Alaris...if you have the time.
It also depends on your route before and afterwards...

i think Alaris could be better than AVE. the part between Barcelona and Mardid isn't very interesting and, like have said before, Mediterranean part of Alaris (but also rest of the route) probably also is not bad. so if you have time take Alaris!

Ok,
thanks so far. So the ALARIS seems to be the better option for me. I´ve got the time, because I will stay in barcelona and malaga for a few days each. With the interrail ticket the difference of 6,5€ and 10€ is not so much, but if I would buy a point to point ticket the AVE is nearly twice as much. So, yes, I will take the ALARIS for sure. :D
I´ve got another question to this topic but maybe here is not the right place to ask, but anyhow: Can I buy discount-point-to-point-tickets at the railcc shop as well? This option is nowhere asked here, but on renfe homepage I can see that it would make about 15€ difference for me because I am under 26 years old.
But you think I do not have to change trains, right?
Thank yoouu :)

Hi.
Yes you can buy the ticket as well here. Just fill in your age and it will show you as well discounted prices:

But compare it to Renfe. Sometimes you get cheaper tickets there, sometimes on railcc. But I can't tell you exactly why - it seems to depend on available contingents of tickets.
For the route by Alaris train have a look here. At the bottom of the site is a map showing the route of the train:
