In my eyes a 65 litres + 10 litres (65+10) is a good size.
You can is it for shorter and longer trips. Also later on after your Interrail trip.
Often there is no difference if you travel one week, two or three weeks. In my case I usually have clothes for one week with me. And after one week I have my washing day.

Im using a 45L backpack and all my clothes are technical, they don't take so much space as normal clothes made of cotton and they dry fast.
And there is extra space for things buying on the way.
(But there are no space for a sleeping bag).
