Hi, I would like to enquire on the Berlin underground train. I understand that Berlin has 2 lines- the S bahn and U-bahn. Is my interRail pass entitle for both lines or do i have to purchase it separately?

Hope to hear from u soon. thanks

S-Bahn lines (S1,...) are operated by DB and thus included in InterRail; U-Bahn (U1,...) is operated by BVG and thus not included in InterRail. Depending on where you want to go you S-Bahn can be rather convenient although the network in the city centre is not as dense as the U-Bahn.

If you stay IN BE anyway for sometime and want to visit various places, then mostlikely you also need to use bus, Ubahn (=metro/subway/underground), tram etc and then you just buy a daypass-and then thats valid on all, also S-Bahn. If you have a pass with x days in Y its a giant waste of money to use passdays for only the S-bahn.
The same applies to about any of the big cities in germany-like Hamburg, M'unchen, FRAnkfurt-they all have S and U-Bahns.
