Good Morning,

Myself and my girlfriend are looking to travel around Europe from the UK for a month from the 22nd of July - 22nd of August using the Interail 30 day pass.

We are looking to take in France (although we are going to the Rhine Valley for a week in April so this will be cut out), the top of Spain (Barcelona possibly), Monaco, Italy (Rome / Pisa / Madrid), Switzerland (any nice lake Region), Germany (Munich & Disney Castle) then back up to catch return Eurostar via Holland & Belgium..

Is this possible? I do have a list of locations I would like to visit which I will try and dig up and attach here shortly. The longest I have been away before is 2 weeks in Magaluf.. so as you can imagine planning a journey like this is quite daunting.

I hope to save £3000+ for the 4 weeks, this includes the price of the Interail Pass, would this be sufficient? Would be great to hear from some people who have done a similar journey.

Many Thanks,
Jon

Any tips on locations / accommodation etc would be greatly appreciated as a starting block. We love places with culture etc, aiming to take in as many sights as we can.

Hi Jon.

First step is UK to France (also for your return).
Have a look on the direct buses (using the ferry) or the ferry Dover-Calais.
It is definitely cheaper than using the Eurostar train, except you can get some special prices.
London-Paris: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/london-to-paris
Paris-London: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-london

Or the ferry Harwich-Hoek van Holland: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/

Information for Munich to Fussen (Neuschwanstein Castle): https://rail.cc/en/interrail/munich-to-fuessen

Concerning the locations to see and visit. Have a look at the different cities in the country section. Some have already information filled in by users.

If you want, you can also add content to your home town for other travellers.

And 3000 GBP should be fine. I suppose for 2 Global Passes and accommodation and food!?
Have your own camping gas cooker with you. It will save you a lot of money.

Peter :)
