Hi.
Lets summarize:

27/04 - 29/04: Vienna, Prague
29/04 - 09/05: Europe
10/05 - 20/05: Denmark, Bergen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris
21/05: Return to India

Before finding the perfect route for you two questions:
1) Bergen is a bit fare away from your route. Do you really want to include it with your wife? Have a look on the maps. You will need one full day to travel from Copenhagen to Oslo, then one overnight or day travel to Bergen. The same for your return.
2) You say you want to travel all over Europe (29/04 - 09/05). Any special wishes? Europe is so big. Do you prefer, Western or Eastern Europe or ...?

Peter :)

Hi Peter,
Ur advice about Bergen does make sense :) ) I have decided to skip Bergen for this trip.

Me n my wife reach Vienna from India on 27th early morning.. We have 3 days for us there.
We plan to sightsee Vienna (?), visit Prague (?) anything more???
She has to be in Copenhagen early morning on the 30th of April till 5th May.
On the 5th of May she flies to Zurich, where she has some more work till the 9th & because she is getting a better deal only on a return flight ticket to Copenhagen for the 10th, I was thinking of me reaching Copenhagen on the 9th, to continue our journey together, ending in Paris on the 20th of May

Now about my solo trip:
Once wifey leaves for Copenhagen by the early morning flight on the 30th of April from Vienna, I intend to see some places of interest in the following countries, which I thought can be done by a Train Journey.
*Slovenia
*Croatia
*Any final place in Germany that can help me reach Copenhagen by a overnight train.
*Copenhagen ( would like to reach here on 9th early morning.

I don't mind to sightsee all day & catch sleep in a night train for my next days destination.(Is that too ambitious??)
If you feel I should add or cut out some countries from my planned list, please don't hesitate to do so :) )

Also please advice me what to plan from Copenhagen upto Paris, (from n between 10th May till 20th May)
I wish to spend at least 4 nights in Paris n surrounding countryside. :) )
regards

Hi Atul.

27/04 - 29/04: Vienna, Prague
3 days aren't a lot for these two cities. So don't add anything else! :)

29/04 - 09/05: Europe
Think about having a round trip like:
Vienna - Krakow - Budapest - Zagreb - Split (if you want to go to the coast) - Ljubljana - Lake Bled. Via Austria to Switzerland, trough the Alps.
Then by night train from Basel to Copenhagen:
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/basel-copenhagen-cnl-472/26

Other option could be:
Vienna - Ljubljana - Zagreb - (Split) - Budapest - (Krakow) - Berlin - Copenhagen

10/05 - 20/05: Denmark, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris
In the Netherlands you have a lot of cities very close by.
Copenhagen you have the options to go to Stockholm, Göteborg or Oslo - if you want to see a bit of Scandinavia. From there it is easy to get further North.
Copenhagen to Paris - possible stops are:
Hamburg, Cologne, Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges then Paris. On the route Belgium to Paris I recommend using free IC trains until Lille, from there a TGV to Paris. Not the horrible expensive (if travelling with a rail pass) Thalys trains.
From Paris you have a lot of options by night and day trains. Into the Bretagne, to Southern France, to Strasbourg.
Think about travelling to the sea in the morning, there you rent a car to explore the small villages and return in the evening to Paris.

These are some options now... your turn to decide...! :)

Hi Peter,
I agree completely about your views for Vienna & Prague.
Wont add any more destinations to those 3 days :)

After going through your itinerary & also by doing a bit of research myself, I have zeroed on to do the following:
30th April leave for Graz
1st may take an evening train for Ljubjana
3rd may take an evening train for Zagreb
5th May take a morning train for Budapest
7th may in the afternoon Fly to Malmo from Budapest ( Fly only if there are no fast & overnight trains !)
7th & 8th see Malmo & crossover to Copenhagen on 9th morning
This itinerary,I would like to freeze down & book all the tickets if possible right away.

Beyond 11th may till 20th may, I would only like to do Amsterdam (2 or 3 nights), Brussels (day trip), Bruges (day trip) ( any more destination I can add on? Looks like I have atleast 3 more nights available!!) then finally want to reach Paris on 17th May in the morning or late afternoon.
It would really be helpful, if you can let me know the best possible railpass that I should be buying from you.
The TGV travel up to to Paris sounds very inviting too :) Shall definitely give it a thought later tonight :)
Look forward to receive your reply at the earliest.
Thanks n regards

Think about the Eurail Global Pass - 10 days within 2 months:
https://rail.cc/en/eurail-global-pass

The part Copenhagen to Malmö is possible by local train (~ EUR 12 - 30 minutes) if you want to save a travel day.

For your wife:
I recommend to get a special-price-ticket for Vienna-Prague and return. Should be available at [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[ux]
Then also a special-price ticket for Copenhagen-Amsterdam by night train: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

For the Netherlands, Belgium and France, have a look on the Eurail Regional Pass - Benelux-France:
https://rail.cc/en/eurail-pass-benelux-france

If you also want to travel by special price Vienna/Prague and return, then have a look on an Eurail X countries Pass:
https://rail.cc/en/eurail-select-pass

And buy as well the Eurail Regional Pass - Benelux-France. Then you could both use the option SAVER/FAMILY and save some money.
