Hi all,26 yr old student from Ireland who plans on interrailing the above routes next summer from Aug 08 -31! Plan on flying from Dublin to Berlin on Aug 8th & going to commence my interrail on Aug 12th. I plan on staying in each city for the following:
Berlin (4 nights)
Prague (3 nights)
Vienna (3 nights)
Budapest (3 nights)
Ljubljana (4 nights)
Venice (2 nights)
Rome (4 nights)

I plan on flying back to Dublin from Rome on Aug 31st.

Would I be better off paying for the trains individually as I've only 6 travel days or will I just buy the 10 travel days in 22 days pass? What night trains should I take?

Any recommendations on my route or info on places I might be missing or places I should skip?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hello,

I've been in all of that cities and i think that 4 nights for Ljubljana is a lot of time, considering that u are only going to spend 3 days in cities like Prague and Vienna. (but that is my opinion).
I recommend you to check out the prices of the trains first. Sometimes is cheaper to you to buy the 3 days interrail pass and pay the other trip. Normally what i do is to first see the prices of the trains and see what is worth it of using the interrail pass.

You can browser here for a lot of things to see and places where to stay. You can also see train connection and extra fees you might spend: https://rail.cc/en/countries

Hi.
Think about adding Krakow (Poland) and like Andre said, 4 days is a lot for Ljubljana. Maybe add Lake Bled in Slovenia for two nights.

Cheers for the replies guys. I was planning on heading to Lake Bled anyways, main reason i'm going to Slovenia really, probaly only stay in Slovenia for 2-3 nights,4 nights is a bit much when I think about. Krakow seems to be really far out of my way,had planned on going there initially but then I found out it's something like 9 hours from Munich?? Any recommendations on the best way on getting from Ljubljana to Rome?? Thinking about skipping Venice & making my trip shorter.

Hi.

Ljubljana to Roma is via Venice - you can do it in one travel day.
Examples:

Ljubljana - Venice: https://rail.cc/en/train/ljubljana-to-venice
Venice - Rome: https://rail.cc/en/train/venice-to-rome

Krakow is easy to reach by night train for example.
Berlin - Prague: https://rail.cc/en/train/berlin-to-prague
Prague - Krakow: https://rail.cc/en/train/prague-to-krakow
Krakow - Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/train/krakow-to-vienna
Vienna - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/train/vienna-to-budapest
Budapest - Ljubljana: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-ljubljana

On the route you mention, you won't cross Munich.
If you want to include Munich, travel Berlin - Pague - Munich - Vienna - Budapest ...
