ok, we're off interrailing next sunday, proper excited! anyway, just wanted some advice on routes.

we've booked our way up to berlin, and after that it'll either be prague or krakow. which of the following would be wiser?

berlin - krakow - prague - munich - ljubljana
berlin - prague - krakow - ljubljana - rome - munich

i'm thinking the first, just want some other advice.

thanks. x

Hi,
I'm doing the Berlin - Krakow - Prague trips in July. I think that bit looks excellent and, like me, you're probably doing those at night to save time.

I don't know the Ljubliana stretch, but the Rome - Munich part should be brilliant if you get to go through the Alps in the daytime. I think you can leave Rome at around 8am which would mean you'd see some pretty good scenery that you'd miss on the night train.

I'm going from Munich - Naples near the end of my trip. It's an overnight, but I leave Munich at 3.30 in the afternoon so I'll get to see a fair bit of the Alps before nightfall.

I'd be grateful for any tips and advice for Berlin, Krakow, Prague that you can post.

Have an excellent one.

iaink.

thanks, will definitely post advice and whatnot when i get back. ljubljana is in there because of my insistence on visiting slovenia, so it makes it a little awkward unfortunately, but still, i'm going, end of story.

rome - munich through the alps sounds gorgeous actually, fingers crossed for that.

so yes, cheers, and will post bits and bobs on return.
