Hi Timothy.

The best is to contact the Hungarian national railway company: rail.shop/mav
Tickets are available up to three months in advance.
There are currently special offers available for EUR 15 one-way.
This is not a special group discount.

If you travel the whole way from Antwerpes to Belgrade and return, a rail pass might be cheaper. In your case an Interrail pass. For example the 5 travel days in 10 or 10 travel days in 22. See here for details:

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it is possible to reserve a seat on the Budapest - Belgrade train (D 343)? If so, how?

I currently have about 15 minutes to change trains, so I'm not sure if I will have enough time to make a reservation at the Budapest station.

Thanks!

Thijs

Hi.
You can buy the reservation at a station where you stay before. What is your route before?
Online booking is not possible.
Usually you can also directly ask the train staff for a free couchette/sleeper place and buy it directly in the train.

Hey! I have a small question about this train. I'll arrive to Budapest Keleti at 20:35, and less than 2 hours later, at 22:20 I'd like to catch the Budapest-Belgrade train. During those 2 hours we have to buy tickets to Belgrade (2 persons). And my question is if it will be possible to buy the Belgrade Special (15EUR) ticket so, let's say, just before the train departure? Or is it some limited offer which has to be bought some time in advance? (I asked in my country international ticket office - they can't sell me that so the only option is buying tickets in Budapest). I also don't consider buying the RailPass because only that part of the route will be done by train.

Hej,

Budapest and Beograd Specials are not limited, you can buy it at Keleti station (international ticket office at platform 6) directly before departure. I did so (travelling with the day train) about a month ago, no problem. :)

Hi.
An if you want to buy it online, do it here: [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux]
You will have to pick up your ticket then in Budapest Keleti at the ticket machine. Main entrance, then on the right.

Thanks a lot! :D I guess in the Keleti ticket office I would have to pay for the ticket only in HUF?

They accept € as well. And there is a cash machine at the front entrance as well.
