Information for Interrail, Eurail travellers and persons with normal train ticket travelling the route Barcelona (Spain) to Berlin (Germany).

Train connection from Barcelona to Berlin. If you have the time, it is better and cheaper to plan some stops for this journey in between. As then you can use cheaper night train and less high speed trains.

I want go by train from Barcelona to Berlin and have some questions:

1) does this train go every day (I plan to start from Barcelona Jan 17(or 16))?
2) if I understand correctly, using this route i have to change train one time in Bern. pls tell me more about it, I mean I come to Bern, how much time i have to change train? where should I find another train? should I buy another ticket and so on? pls tell me as detailed as you can
3) if I use this route which ticket should I buy and can I buy it in Barcelona railway station?
4) should I buy another ticket for my luggage?
5) if I want to go from Berlin to Moscow by train too, should I buy another ticket there and which train/route should I use?

Thank you

Hi Michael.

1) The direct night train Barcelona to Bern runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday like it is mentioned in the train details.
You can check as well the electronic schedules here: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route

2) Yes, you have to change in Bern. With the mentioned connection you have 15 minutes to change. Ask the train station staff or have a look at the electronic schedules which you will find in the station. It is easy. :)
If you don't have an Interrail pass, you will need a second ticket for Bern to Berlin. Then the 15 minutes for change won't be enough and you have to take a later train.

3) Calculate it for yourself. Ask at the railway station in Barcelona for offers to Bern. Or try the website of elipsos.com.
For Bern to Berlin check if you can get an Europa Spezial ticket: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

4) No.

5) You can get it in Berlin main station or as well here: [ux]https://rail.shop/realrussia[/ux]

And please fill your profile, otherwise I have to delete your account. Thank you. :)

Peter :)
