was there a few days ago and was informed by a very friendly and used to many tourists train controleur, that the discount of 50% advertsied to IR-card holders is no more since 12/9/11. They now only do discounts with some special local chipcard. Full fare the whole route is 20,30€. There is a BUS replacement for the last part into Nice.
Now lets wait&pray&see how long this will take to get into the ''official'' IR-www and all that.
PS-the connection from train SNCF into Bus at St. Auban-to get you into Digne=starting point, is quite tricky and hard to find and involves a long uphill climb from the gare near to a disastrous chemical factory. Try to print out a google map (the other way is clearly signposted to gare SNCF).
Worth the effort? muh, not rally to me. It is nice but not really much more as that. Little yellow train in Pyrenees is more worth it-also not spectacular and at least ''free'' on an IR valid in la France.
