Hey guys! We r a group of 3 and we r planning a trip through 4 cities in Europe in November. Would like to know available trains (and maybe tips?) to this route:

Amsterdam – Luxembourg – Paris – Barcelona.

We are only finding difficulties to find Amsterdam - Luxembourg. The other ones we already had a look at it :)

Night trains to long trips, if possible please.

Do we need an interrail global pass, right? Or have any other valid options?

Thank you for your help!

xxx,
Lety

Hi Lety.
Maybe you can get special offers for this route and travel cheaper on them instead of the Interrail pass. Just check the websites of the national railway companies such as SNCF.
Amsterdam - Luxembourg just added for you: https://rail.cc/en/train/amsterdam-to-luxembourg

But you can always use the schedule planers and find it out by yourself: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Compare it to the reservation fees of the different types of trains: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

If you travel by Interrail the 5 in 10 Interrail Global Pass would be the cheapest solution. Then you could even add two more stops on your route.

For Paris - Barcelona please pay attention. Don't use the direct night train when travelling with an Interrail pass. Maybe it is even interesting to cross the Pyrenees during winter. :)

Nice! Thanks!

I will take a better look at it later :)

Meanwhile, another friend of mine asked me about Paris - Amsterdam.
So I´ve searched and I found this:

Thalys reservation costs Paris - Amsterdam is the most expensive category, reservation is 33€

so, 33 euros is with interral pass right? how much it is the advanced ticket without the pass?

Hi.

Details Paris - Amsterdam are here: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-amsterdam

THALYS is not Interrailers friend. :o

For special fares, simply check their website.

I´m greatful for all help!

We were wondering to buy separeted tickets instead the global pass cuz, possibly, we gonna cut Luxembourg and use TGV from Amsterdam to Paris.
Although we couldn´t find the price to Le petit train Jaune (from Perpignan to Latour de Carol, right?)
Where can we find it?

Cheers,
Lety

you asked for Luxembourg-and of course the hi-speed Thalys does not run via there.
For Ams-LUx you have basically 2 routes: ev hour-via Brussel-change at Centraal there and wait 58 mins. Can go and see Manneken Pis at nearby Grote markt-just 5-7 mins walk. You must not use Thalys then, but the hourly unreserved BeNeLuxtrains.
OR-via Maastrciht (ev 30 mins)-then LIEGE-train to Brussel-change Liege Guillemins-ev 2 hjrs direct local train to LUX via a quite scenic route. NO nightrains here.
Total time for both routes Ams-Lux about 6 hrs.
For Lux-Paris you have several direct TGV-trains- 6€ extra for the compulsory seat or if quotum sold out-then 18 €. many more connections by changing at either Metz or Nancy in FR. With many more changes and a much longer time, also poss. to go with local trains RES and hence cost free.
