Hi you guys :D Im new here eheh

I have some questions. My friend and i will be doing an Interrail at the beginning of September and i really need some advices, we're a little beyond schedule :|
The interail pass will be 5 days within 10. Our destinations: Rome, Veneza, Milão (im not sure about this one) and Atenas. But im starting to have doubts about this last one, because its really far. Initially i was thinking to go there directly from Rome but the pass don't include that course right? Unless we tack a ferryboat or something? In that case is it included?
In addition, i planned Praga and Viena as a possibly replacement to Atenas. What do you think about these one?
But my big problem is that im starting my trip from Portugal and until i arrive (Madrid or Paris and then heading to Rome) i'll be spending most of my 5 days pass. I already searched for low cost flights (to madrid, paris, milan, rome, etc.) but it's still too expensive (we're not planning to spend a lot of money :| ). Do you have any advices?

I have a million questions but for now i think that's all :os

Thank you travellers
Salvador Santos

Hi.

About Greece please read here: https://rail.cc/en/greece-national-routes-cu/f5661
And: https://rail.cc/en/new-trains-from-thessaloniki-to-skopje-belgrade-and-sofia/f5508
So better to skip it this summer.

Ferry Italy to Greece is included: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/ancona-patras/10

Concerning your route... a 5 in 10 isn't a lot if you first have to come from Portugal to France and also want to return.
Check this connection Lisbon to Paris: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/lisbon-to-paris

Paris to Rome is possible by direct night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-rome

Or to Venice: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-venice

So you have to calculate a little bit to find your final route.
Check here for more connections: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

I'm still trying to figure out how to do this trip :os

I will definitely skip Greece to next summer ;)

Another thing, i know that the interail pass isn't valid in our country. So can you tell me how much do i have to pay to cross the border from Portugal. From the moment that i enter Spain the pass becomes valid?

Thanks once again Peter for all the information, it's starting to be clearer in my head ;)

Hi.
It is about EUR 10 you have to pay to the border. From there your Interrail pass gets valid.
Have a look at the first post of this topic:
