It mentions Antwerp twice!!

But, I do agree with that article, although it could do with mentioning places like Moscow Kyivsky station, or Helsinki Central, or Berlin Hbf, or Praha h.l.(?)

I'd be interested to see what some of the ugliest stations in the world would be...my votes go to Warszawa Centralna and Crewe

Hej,

an interesting article indeed but as it is with lists of these kind each one has its own personal lists of favourites.

I havent been outside of Europe so far and even in Europe I havent been to every country already - so my lists naturally would be a little different.

In general there are many fine big stations, but with some you associate special memories etc etc...

It is quite late now but a quick list of some favourite (European) train stations of mine could be:

- Paris Gare de l'Est: Beautifully restored and it is the station where I usually arrive when I come to Paris (numerous times...) :)

- Antwerpen Centraal: Kind of a cliché but it is indeed beautiful and since the new platforms have been built it is one of Europe's most spectacular trains stations regarding traffic and architecture as well

- Köln Hbf: The station building itself is not spectacular but it sits just at the banks of the Rhine where are six track bridge leads over to Köln Deutz station. It has massive traffic and staying there for a while having a look of trains to all directions of Europe has quite a nostalgic touch. Plus, right beside the station is the massive cathedral.
A similar station, although a little smaller can be found in Newcastle which I also like very much

- If I'm in the UK already, one could mention Edinburgh Waverley, York and Glasgow Central as well which are all beauties in their own right.
And of course some stations in London, Paddington, Victoria,...

- In Lisboa you have Rossio station, a spectacular Manueline style building

Of course there are also many small stations which are beautiful, I am thinking of Wiesen at the RhB network or most stations along the Inlandsbana.

Good night ;)
