Hello,

A group of us are travelling to Pula in Croatia at the end of the month for Outlook Festival. The festival starts on the 1st September. Unfortunately we can't leave until the 30th August so it doesn't give us a lot of time.

I did have a route mapped out that involved going from Calais -> Paris, then overnight train from Paris to Venice, train to Trieste then coach to Pula which would get us there sometime on the 31st. Unfortunately when I tried to book the overnight train it said it was sold out.

So, I found another route... Paris to Munich to Ljubljana to Rijeka, then onto Pula. Only thing is, the Paris -> Munich train won't come up on * xxxxxxxxxx the railccs don't like this company, so I removed their name - sorry * if you're trying to book an InterRail reservation. Seems a bit fishy to me as it shows the route if you're buying normally.

The only other route I can find is getting a train at 7am from Paris to Milan on the 31st, then onto Trieste... but we wouldn't be able to get to Pula until the 1st as it will be late when we arrive in Trieste.

Anyone got any other ideas? Would ideally like to arrive in Pula on the 31st. Pretty much every route I try I end up at a dead end.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance... have found the site very helpful so far!

Hi.
Sorry to say that... but I have to smile a little bit. ;)

First thing: we are not the support forum of this website you mentioned.
Second thing: why don't you use the reservation tool in the railcc shop? There you can book the train Paris - Munich on the 30th: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

As well compare the prices for the Interrail passes ... it is usually a bit cheaper here or at least the same price. Plus free delivery to the UK by standard shipping. :)

Just to explain: at the place you purchase your ticket, you give the commission for ticket sales to. If you order at this company you mentioned, you give them money, but we have to work and answer your questions... not nice... ;)

Just wanted to explain it...! :)
Have a sunny trip, Peter

Sorry Peter, hadn't even thought of that! I did actually try and check tickets through this site but it wasn't working at the time (no routes were coming up so assuming it was a server/database thing).

Thanks for your help though, will check again via your reservation tool.

Hej ... no problem ... it's absolutely okay as you are a free person. :) Just wanted to explain it as well for others, that the railcc project can't survive only offering service and getting nothing back. :)
Let me know if you need more help.
And the night train Paris - Venice seems to be sold out like you said.
Peter :)

So I think I've managed to find a route via your reservation tool.

Calais Ville -> Paris Nord
Paris -> Stuttgart HBF
Stuttgart HBF -> Munich HBF
Munich HBF -> Ljubljana
Ljubljana -> Rijeka (and then bus on to Pula)

Quick question, the last two trains don't allow me to book via your reservation tool (Munich -> Ljubljana and Ljubljana -> Rijeka)... do you think these two are necessary to reserve in advance or should we be okay booking at the station on the day?

Also, didn't realise train reservations had to be sent by post... is there no e-ticket equivalent?
Thanks again.

Hi.

Stuttgart - Munich: free of reservation fees.

It depends on which train you use from Munich to Ljubljana. Day train? Then it is free - no need to reserve:
https://rail.cc/en/train/munich-to-ljubljana

Ljubljana - Rijeka: free of extra fees - https://rail.cc/en/train/ljubljana-to-rijeka

:idea: If you can not get a reservation for the Paris - Stuttgart train, you can do it this way: use one of the frequent TGV trains from Paris to Strasbourg (should easier to get an Interrail reservation). Then by regional train via Kehl to Offenburg in Germany. Continue to Karlsruhe. Then Stuttgart and Munich.
Here is an example (much more connections available): https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-munich

Paris - Munich information: https://rail.cc/en/train/paris-to-munich
