Hi

I'll be off interrailing europe in a weeks time. Was just wondering if its worth taking a day bag as well as my larger hike bag? Assuming i can leave my larger bag at a hostel and discover some cities, i don't want to be carrying around a large bag. Is a small bag advisable or just a money belt/stuffed pockets?

Thanks for any help

Alex

Hi Alex,

yes I think a separate day bag is very practical. I have a second backpack since I am carrying my photo equipment with me but usually a shoulder bag should be sufficient as well. You could put it guide books, small jacket (rain protection) and some water (since it often is rather expensive to buy it at small stores in the city centre).
For ticket, passport, cash I'd recommend a separate small bag which can be worn under your clothes.
