I would like to travel to Belgrade again next year; I love that city. I like to combine my trips with night train journeys and am currently looking into all the possible options. Departure from Hamburg.

Option 1: Take the ÖBB Nightjet from Hamburg overnight to Vienna and continue during the day via Budapest to Belgrade.

Option 2: Take the Hungarian railway night train from Berlin to Budapest and then continue to Belgrade. I hope that the direct connection between Budapest and Belgrade will be back in 2026. Currently, you have to change trains twice and it takes quite a long time. Does anyone know more details about whether and when exactly the direct connection will be back?

Option 3: Take the EN 40237/414 night train from Stuttgart to Zagreb and continue from there to Belgrade during the day.

Option 4: Take the ICE to Zurich and then the EN 415 night train from Zurich to Belgrade. I found this night train on rail.cc, but I haven't been able to find any other information about it. Does this connection still exist?

I would be grateful if anyone has any information about the EN 415 or if you have any other ideas about how to travel to Belgrade by night train.

Viel Glueck damit!

What NLtrainer means is that he doesn't know...

First: the pages you read in rail.cc are a BLOG not live info. Blogs are online diaries, they ought to be true when written but there is no guarantee after that.

Since it was written three things have happened:
Serbia has cut rail links to other countries
Austria has cut a lot of direct services to ex-Jugolsavia because of delays, although the night trains are currently running.
There has been a reorganisation of train numbers!

So EN415 from Zurich is now EN40465, it only runs to Zagreb and what happens next year will be announced maybe in a few weeks.

everything about current Nightjet (and EN trains that pass through Austria) is on www.nightjet.com info about next year (or excuses about why there is no info) will appear there soon.
