Hey,
I am looking for informations on the cheapest way to book a train journey from Roskilde to Chamonix Mont Blanc. Seems it is tuff to get to the destination as I can not find details on DB's website. maybe I should look until Geneva and then bus to Chamonix? Thanks for advices. Cheers. Nico.

The German site seems to function when start or finish is German. So divide the trip in Roskilde-Hamburg and Hamburg-Chamonix or something like that.

It USUally=not in 101% of all cases, is the cheapest offer:
IF booked fixed (NO change allowed afters!) as long as possible before, AND travel off-season=not on a very much wanted travelday, and IN the country concerned, in this case thus FRance on SNCF, f.e. from Strasbourg (=just over the border from DE), or perhaps even Paris (get there on a nighttrain-though that combo will certainly be not cheapest overall). However, Cham is on a side=branch line and has no TGV or same type trains, so do not expect really very low total prices.
DB=bahn will NOT sell combo with non-railway buses, in such a case you have to do hmework yourself. You also did not give an intended date, so we cannot answer that.
IF you really want to save the last € or DKK: forget train, use FLIXbus or even-again IF long enough advance and without on overdose of extra luggage (ski??) search for some cheapO flite somewhere in between.
Also: train/tog: assuming you likely also want to come back, and I guess you are junior (<26 yr): and again: WHEN?? look at Interrail-the MIN is for 4 traveldays in 1 month, there are usually a few times in the yr sales when its even like 10/15% cheaper-but with restrictions-this may then very well be lowest total price-but you have to pay extra (10€/ride) for the necessary REServ for TGV trains in FR. IC/ICE In DE is voluntary-samesame as DSB does on its IC.
