I wanted to go to Athens with IRpass. But I can't find any connections by trains to Athens. Deutche Bahn doesnt seem to know that Athens even exists... Is it due to the riots?

I wanted to buy 10 days/22 days

Warsaw-Praha

Praha-Ljublana

Ljublana-Beograd

Beograd-Sarajevo

Sarajevo-Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki-Athens

Is it possible to use IR-Pass in Greece? Is it any good, the journey I've planned. I would really appreciate some help here from more experienced travellers!

Should give some of the info you need. Basically Greece has lost all its international rail connections and you must now use some buses

Hi,

as Lordwma already said, all international railway lines to/from Greece are currently suspended due to the economical situation of the country/railway operator TRAIN OSE. However, you can still use InterRail within the country and for the ferries Italy - Greece. The schedule has been optimized as well, so there are now only IC between Thessaloniki and Athens which require extra reservation/supplement and frequency on many other lines has been reduced or even withdrawn (as on the Peloponnes narrow gauge network).

If you want to so that route, what about a 5in10 InterRail pass? The rest of the trip then with regular tickets.

PS: The schedule planners never had domestic Greek services included - only services to/from Thessaloniki (international trains). Have a look here for the link to the current schedules in Greece :arr: https://rail.cc/en/greece-national-routes-cu/f5661
