Is there a train that runs from Kristiansund to Alesund in Norway? If so how do I buy tickets on line?! I have spent so much time going round in circles! Please help me!
I need to book a train or bus from Gjovik to Oslo too and couldn't manage that either!

First there is a train Gjøvik-Oslo which is going every two hrs . Tickets can be book at vy.no/en . And both Ålesund and Kristianssund didnt have a single meter of Rail ! But they are both connected well with an hourly Bus (Bus 100) . Ticket for thos Bus can be purchased in the FRAM app or locally . The is based on how much Zones you are crossing . Cherres argon :)

Argon, we have a bigger problem higlighted here. I suspect Robyn found this forum after using Google to answer the question. I just put Kristiansund to Alesund in Google and very near the top of the list is https://rail.cc/train/kristiansund-to-alesund which is very wrong about the trains, althought the Vy link does give the correct answer about the buses (but can't sell tickets). The second option for tickets is ACP (why?) and they quite reasonably don't have Kristiansund in their list of railway stations because it doesnlt have one. And at the top of the rail.cc page is the forum link to direct the confused in our direction.

Kristiansund to Ålesund:
I would assume taking the bus nr. 100 is the best option (about 4h). You find the timetable and tickts at https://frammr.no/?sprak=3

Gjøvik to Oslo:
Simply take any suitable connection from https://www.vy.no/en or https://entur.no/

Thank you for your help. Yes Google very misleading and time wasting!! As it says there is a train from Kristiansund to Alesund. But after days of looking I suspected there was not! Thank you for clarifying for me :)

Google Search will always be difficult because first it has to understand the question and then it will fall into the mass of historic posts, including many like you who never got an answer! But Google Maps (using the directions function) would have given an instant correct answer. Why are so many travellers afraid of maps.......?

Not afraid of maps but what is this about....???
I believe what I read, looks official? I don't understand why it is there???

what is that? Google Maps is not copyright OpenStreetMaps! And even OSM will give directions by car (but doesn't have Google's public transport option).

The 2024 copyright sign is propably added automatically by software, not a real person.

That text is not really written, but artificially combined, using your search words.

I said two days earlier that the info on the rail.cc page yet was inaccurate yet she still insists on referring to it and says we are rude. All the map shows is the relative postion of the two locations, not any form of route. Somehow any site that is tidy and appears to know something is now "official". All we have proved is that she can't use google or understand maps, so the chances of her making the journey are slim. Sometimes the truth hurts. It's a good job our dutch friend hasn't seen this, his views on the App dependent smartphone users would be ruder than anything so far!

I'm sorry for the incorrect Informations , raill.cc is outdated because the owner doesnt have much time . The Website will be likely offline or updated within the next few days . Regardless , I hope that we could solved at least your particular problem ! Cherres argon :)
