Dear experts,
I own a paper-interrail pass and at the time I have no clue how to reserve a seat (1st class) from for example venezia to rome. Every site I used does not offer a solution.
I would be grateful for an information or a link.

Have you tried interrail's own website? https://www.interrail.eu/en/book-reservations/how-do-i-make-seat-reservations - it implies that you can do this for paper pass if you have an account set up. Remember that Interrail is not valid in Italo trains in Italy so Venezia to Roma will only be possible in Frecce.... trains.

Due to your assistance the problem is solved. I had the account, but could not find it.
But I did not find any restrictions about the use of train lines with interrail.
I will purchase a reservation at the train station after arriving in Venice.
