We are a familly of 4 (parents and kids 16&10 years old) and we are thinking of using interrail for travelling from Athens to Northern Europe. But we have no idea of a plan and how can we find accommodation in each country, How we know which apartment is near the train station in each country etc. Has anyone used interrail from Athens?

There are no international trains from Greece (use bus or plane) . For timetables in most countries see www.bahn.com. Background information about trains in almost every country at www.seat61.com. For hotels google “hotel in …. “. Distance to stations use Google Maps. www.interrail.eu has also a forum specialised in Interrail use.

You could also use a ferry from Greece to Italy, some give discounts for Interrail which is shown on their website. Fast trains across Italy will need reservations, which are also explained by Interrail.
